Install and first launch
Official install, network and inbox requirements, and what you may see on a new install before sign-in or sign-up.
Description
This page covers getting the app on your phone and what often appears on a first install before you register or sign in.
Before you start
- Install the app from the official store and open it on a stable network (Wi‑Fi or cellular).
- Use an email inbox you can open on this device—after sign-up the app sends a verification code, not only a passive link.
- Have your date of birth ready. You must be at least 18 years old to register; the form uses MM/DD/YYYY.
- Choose a username you like: letters and numbers only, 2–30 characters. The app checks availability while you type.
- Password rules (enforced on Create Account): at least 8 characters, and must include uppercase, lowercase, a digit, and a special character (e.g.
!@#$%…). - Optional: you may opt in to promotional emails/SMS and to anonymous usage analytics—both are separate toggles on the registration screen.
First launch (new install)
- On a first install, the app may show onboarding before sign-in. Complete it to reach the sign-in experience.
- If you are not signed in and try to use a feature that requires an account, the app asks you to Sign in first and may return you to what you were doing after you finish.
