Staff invitations and joining a team

How invited employees join without accidentally creating a standalone merchant business profile.

Description

Target readers: cashiers, shift leads, and support staff who do not register a new business. You join an existing merchant through an invitation from a manager or brand admin.

Steps

  1. Open the invitation email (or SMS, if your org uses it) on a device you control. Tap the Accept / Join team link; the app or store listing opens.
  2. Install or update the Dealjoy Merchant app if prompted, then return to the link or open the app and sign in with the invited email address when asked.
  3. Create a new password if the flow requires it, or sign in with an existing staff password if your org uses single sign-on—match the on-screen instructions only.
  4. When the app asks to select a store or confirm location, pick the store you work at. If you work at several, ask your manager which default to use; you can often switch later (see Store selector).
  5. Complete any profile or phone verification steps shown. Skipping required fields may leave you in a limited state.
  6. After the home or Scan screen appears, confirm you can see the bottom tabs your role should have. If not, read Tabs and roles before assuming the install failed.

If something goes wrong

  • “Invitation expired”: request a new invite from your manager; you cannot self-extend the old link.
  • Email already in use with a different flow: you may have an old personal attempt to register a business—ask your admin to confirm which account to keep; do not delete the app data without guidance.
  • App opens to a blank or error page: copy the exact on-screen message for your admin; it may be a store-level misconfiguration, not your device.
