Friends and friend requests
The person-add icon opens friend management; pending requests show a badge count on the icon.
Description
From Chats, tap the person-add icon to open Friends (or the friend list screen your build uses). Here you can search users, send friend requests, and approve incoming requests. Pending requests also bump a badge on the icon so you notice invites quickly.
Steps
Send or accept friend requests
- Open Chat → tap Add friend (person-add with optional badge).
- Use Search if you know the other person’s username or email field the app exposes.
- Tap Add or Request next to the correct user; wait for them to accept.
- Switch to the Requests tab or screen to Accept or Decline incoming invites.
Manage existing friends
- Still inside the friends area, scroll your Friends list.
- Tap a friend to reopen a direct message thread.
- Use overflow menus only if you need block or remove—read each confirmation dialog carefully.
If something goes wrong
- Cannot find a user → confirm spelling; they may have privacy settings blocking search—ask them to send you the request instead.
- Harassment → block the user if available, then report via Customer support.
