Friends and friend requests

The person-add icon opens friend management; pending requests show a badge count on the icon.

Description

From Chats, tap the person-add icon to open Friends (or the friend list screen your build uses). Here you can search users, send friend requests, and approve incoming requests. Pending requests also bump a badge on the icon so you notice invites quickly.

Steps

Send or accept friend requests

  1. Open Chat → tap Add friend (person-add with optional badge).
  2. Use Search if you know the other person’s username or email field the app exposes.
  3. Tap Add or Request next to the correct user; wait for them to accept.
  4. Switch to the Requests tab or screen to Accept or Decline incoming invites.

Manage existing friends

  1. Still inside the friends area, scroll your Friends list.
  2. Tap a friend to reopen a direct message thread.
  3. Use overflow menus only if you need block or remove—read each confirmation dialog carefully.

If something goes wrong

  • Cannot find a user → confirm spelling; they may have privacy settings blocking search—ask them to send you the request instead.
  • Harassment → block the user if available, then report via Customer support.
